The Young Masters Programme

The Young Masters Programme (YMP) is an e-learning course promoted by the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University in Sweden.
For approximately 25 weeks, from September 2005 to May 2006, young students from 15 to 18 years old and their teachers have studied online the two first parts of the programme. These dealt with the subjects Sustainable Development and Preventive Environmental Strategies, and consisted in a preparation for the following parts. In Part III the participants developed a project in their local community with the help of the knowledge obtained in the previous parts. This project will be presented in the Global Environmental Youth Convention (GEYC), a meeting between all the delegations that have completed the three parts of the programme, which will be held this year in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from 9th to 13th of December. This convention is the fourth part of the YMP and its theme will be Peace and sustainable development and it will enable all participants to share their projects with colleagues from other countries with the aim of promoting the exchange of experiences and the familiarization of youngsters with problems and socio-environmental realities different from their own.
